Winter Cover Differences
As you prepare for the
winter months you are surely already thinking about taking a swim in your
nice pool when it finally warms up again. What you are surely not looking
forward to is having to clean all of the debris out from the pool to just
get ready for some swimming. We offer a
wide selection of winter
pool covers for both in-ground and above-ground pools. By having a winter
pool cover on your in-ground or above-ground pool, you will keep debris out
of your pool during winter months, making your start up easier on you.

Above-Ground

Above Ground Pools
are offered 3 different Styles of covers. They are each described below.
Standard Winter
Covers - Rugged Mesh Winter Covers - Leaf Nets
Standard Winter
Covers are offered in 3 different colors and are backed by 8, 12, or 15 yr
warranties. These winter covers do not drain water and will require a cover
pump when opening next season.
Arctic Armor covers are woven strong and
long-lasting polyethylene tapes to produce a cover that will hold up to
winters worst. Arctic Armor covers are
constructed of an extremely tight weave fabric that does not allow light to
pass through. Without sunlight, algae cannot grow. These
covers do not skimp on
fabric! Arctic Armor above-ground covers use an extra foot of
material—another reason why they are a great value! A 4-ft. overlap provides
a better fit, especially on pools with extra wide top-rails. This extra
fabric also takes up some of the slack during windy weather, helping to
prevent excessive wear and tear. [top]
EZ Drain Winter
Covers are offered in standard black only and are backed
by a 15 year warranty. These winter covers drain water out automatically.
EZ Drain comes with a
drainage system sandwiched between layers of the cover. Simply hook up the
cover drain to your pool's return line with the hose that is included and
the cover automatically drains itself of excess water. EZ Drain removes
damaging excess water weight from your pool cover all winter long.
Eliminates cover pumps, siphons and the need for costly air pillows. Not
only does EZ Drain automatically remove rain water, but it is a tough and
durable winter cover that will protect your pool from winter's worst. It is
made from super-strong triple laminated woven polyethylene with a specially
designed inner scrim that is extremely tear resistant. EZ Drain is UV
protected to shield it from the damaging effects of sunlight
EZ Drain can only be installed on pools with
Hayward style returns. Pools with non standard returns such as Doughboy,
Lomart, Muskin and pools with Aqualuminator lighting systems are not
compatible with EZ Drain [top]
Rugged Mesh
Winter Covers are offered in standard black only and are backed by a 8
year warranty. Tight mesh scrim screens out all but the finest debris.
Spring cover removal is a snap with no cover pumping. Rugged Mesh Covers
allow water to seep through while leaving that bad stuff behind. Rugged Mesh
Covers drain water overtime and will retain some water during season. Rugged
mesh's fine mesh allows rain and snow to slowly fill your pool, saving water
and chemicals in the spring. Since our scrim is so tightly woven, the cover
allows almost no sunlight through and ensures an algae-free pool in the
spring. Arctic Armor's rugged mesh covers are made from tough U.V. protected
woven polyethylene that is strong enough to handle ice, snow, sleet and high
winds. Rugged double stitched hems are triple reinforced for strength and
the cover's black underside retards algae growth. Above-Ground Rugged Mesh covers have a
4-ft overlap and include a cable and winch tightener. [top]
Leaf Nets
are offered in standard black mesh only and are backed by a 4 year warranty. Our
Leaf Net is just what you need if you have leaves and branches on your cover
when you go to open your pool for season. The leaf net’s tight mesh
traps even the smallest leaves before they reach your winter cover. Other
brands of leaf nets have larger mesh that allows small leaves to pass
through to your winter cover and decompose in the spring. Simply lay leaf
net on top of your winter cover when you close your pool and remove it in
November before the first snow. Your cover will be virtually leaf free and
spring clean-up will be a snap. Eliminates that messy swamp of decaying
leaves! If you live in an area where leaves are a problem invest in a
quality Arctic Armor leaf net. Above-ground leaf nets have an extra 3-foot
overlap and include a cable and winch to hold it securely in place over your

we sell our covers by pool size, not cover size. The In-Ground Standard
Winter Covers come with loops every four feet
to secure water bags and corner grommets allow for extra tie down in windy

Solid Safety
Covers are available with two different warranty options. The 12 year
Solid is offered in Blue and Green. The 15 year Solid is offered in Green
only. Both the 12 and 15 year solid safety covers feature a center filter
screen that allows rainwater to drain off the cover and into the pool.

pump off the cover in the spring. The patented Kleen-Screen micro filter
catches the finest dirt and debris, insuring a sparkling clean pool in the
spring. Solid safety covers that seal out all dirt, debris, and algae have
long been hampered by their heavy weight, making them difficult to install
and remove. Arctic Armor's 15 year solid safety covers have solved this
problem with a rugged new solid material – Vinyl Tuff. This rugged
reinforced vinyl material gives your pool the complete protection of a solid
safety cover at 33% less weight. Not only is Vinyl Tuff lightweight and
easy to use, it is also up to 35% stronger than standard solid safety cover
material. The 12 year covers come with Spring Loaded SS Springs that hold
the cover firmly in place. The 15 year covers come with Double comes with
dual stainless steel springs that hold the cover in place. Both the 12 and
15 year come with brass anchors that recess flush with deck when not in use.
We offer standard size rectangle pools, along with sizes with

*NOTE* If you have
anything with in 14" of your pool's edge that can not be removed, you will
require a custom safety cover. Trees, handrails, ladders, fencing, attached
spa, diving bases are all items that may not be movable. If you have rounded
pool edges, cut out seating area, or offset steps, you will also need to get
a custom cover. We specialize in custom covers and we would be happy

Mesh Safety
Covers are available with two different warranty options. The 12
and 15 year Mesh are offered in Blue and Green. Mesh safety covers Durable,
long-lasting Arctic Armor covers are strong enough to support your entire
family, yet light enough to put on or remove from your pool in five minutes
or less. Arctic Armor covers are made of super-strong two-ply mesh with a
break strength of over 4,000 lbs. During use, the cover is
held in place with brass anchors. Its fine, lightweight mesh allows
rain to seep through but screens out leaves and debris. Spring clean up is a
snap because no water collects on the cover. The cover comes complete with
brass anchors, stainless-steel springs, installation tool and storage bag.
The 15 year Cover cover features Arctic Armor's Super Mesh. Super Mesh is
the finest mesh safety cover you can buy – period! While functioning as a
traditional safety cover, it will protect your family and pets from
accidental drowning while improving the appearance of your pool in the
off-season. Super Mesh features include, superior strength and a tighter
weave. The 12 year covers come with Spring Loaded SS Springs that hold the
cover firmly in place. The 15 year covers come with Double comes with dual
stainless steel springs that hold the cover in place.
